The Different Insperation Idea in Creating a Shabby Chic Style

WELCOME TO JUST GLAM AND FAB
YOUR ULTIMATE GUIDE IN LIVING
A GLAMOROUS AND FABULOUS LIFE

Hello just glam and fab girl I hope
You have a positive and happy day

Shabby chic  is a form of interior design where furniture and furnishing are either chosen for their appearance of age and signs of wear and tear or where new items are distress to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, opulent, yet cottage-style decor, often with an affected feel is emphasized to differentiate it from genuine period decor

Shabby chic items are often heavily painted through the years, with many layers showing through obviously time-worn areas. The style is imitated in faux painting using glaze or by painting then rubbing and sanding away the top coat to show the wood or base coats, known as "distressing" the finish of the furniture. Furniture pieces that are not genuine antiques are usually selected for their resemblance to older furniture styles, and may be reproduction furniture with a distressed finish. Elaborate furniture appliques depicting flower swags and garlandscherubs, and other motifs may be added.

Fabrics tend to be cottons and linens, with linen being particularly popular, inspired by old French linens. Pure whites, as well as ecrus and worn or bleached out pastel colors are favorites. Fabric is often stained with tea to give it the look of old fabric. Bleached and faded are terms often applied to the style. Vintage floral patterns with pastel colors, cotton ticking patterns, or linen in earth tones, are all typical of shabby chic style.

Antique pieces such as pie safes and jelly cupboards are popular in shabby chic dΓ©cor.[1] Besides white, the shabby chic style also includes soft neutral colors such as sky blue, rose pink and beige tones. Hints from French-style interior design often show in shabby chic homes such as Rococo-style lighting fixtures, furniture or wall paneling.

The shabby chic aesthetic also expands to the garden, with the same design principles of using timeworn garden furniture and feminine accessories. Rose gardens are popular with the shabby chic style of decor.

Other popular decor items are pillows made of vintage barkcloth fabric, vintage linens, chenille bedspreads, vintage chandeliers, and anything with roses in the design. It is a soft, relaxed, feminine, romantic style of decorating that looks comfortable and inviting.
Variants of shabby chic style include:

  • Cottage chic
  • Beach cottage chic
  • French country
  • Gustavian (Swedish)

The style started in Great Britain and evokes the type of decoration found in large country houses where there are worn and faded old chintz sofas and curtains, old paintwork and unassuming 'good' taste. The end result of shabby chic is to achieve an elegant overall effect, as opposed to the sentimentally cute Pop-Victorian. Recycling old furniture and fabrics is an important aspect of the look and was especially popular with modern Bohemians and artisans that made up a sidelined counter-culture movement during the 1980s when expensive quality decor became very fashionable with the upper middle classes. The original shabby chic interiors were usually considered in themselves works of art.

The early forms of shabby chic were rather grand but the style has evolved taking inspiration from many forms of decoration. These range from 18th century Swedishpainted decoration, the French Chateau as well as the American Shakers where simplicity and plainness was essential.

When it comes to achieving that shabby chic look in any
room, it's less of having on distinct piece of furniture as
Main Focal Point and more of grouping small, simple items together

The shabby chic style is synonymous with Color White,
so go ahead and layer varying shade of white on your walls
furniture, pieces and accent. Not only will they add a distinct
and intimate feel, they easy to clean with regular household bleach

Think of bringing in second hand furniture and decor
to bring the shabby chic design aesthetic

WELCOME TO JUST GLAM AND FAB YOUR ULTIMATE GUIDE
IN LIVING A GLAMOROUS AND FABULOUS LIFE

I am just so happy right now after watching Mariah 's world and now Mariah Carey and Mac Cosmetic created a Glamrous and beautiful product

The collaboration, which launches on Dec. 15, is obscenely glamorous. Silver glitter and metallic gold elements accent every single product. The formulas themselves boast luminous shimmer as well as names inspired by some of Mariah's greatest hits.

We're especially enchanted by the all-over body sparkle (named "Touch My Body," natch), which comes in a retro canister complete with a bow-accented puff. And we're pretty sure that we don't need
to tell you that this collection's stunning gold highlighter — which features the face of Mimi herself on the powder — will be an instant collector's item for MAC and Mariah fans alike.

Mariah Carey (born March 27, 1969 or 1970)is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. In 1990, she rose to fame with the release of "Vision of Love" from her eponymous debut album. The album produced four chart-topping singles in the US and began what would become a string of commercially successful albums which solidified the singer as Columbia's highest selling act. Carey and Boyz II Men spent a record sixteen weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995–1996 with "One Sweet Day", which remains the longest-running number-one song in US chart history. Following a contentious divorce from Sony Music head Tommy Mottola, Carey adopted a new image and traversed towards hip hop with the release of Butterfly (1997). In 1998, she was honored as the world's best-selling recording artist of the 1990s at the World Music Awards and subsequently named the best-selling female artist of the millennium in 2000.
Carey parted with Columbia in 2000, and signed a record-breaking $100 million recording contract with Virgin Records America. In the weeks prior to the release of her film Glitter and its accompanying soundtrack in 2001, she suffered a physical and emotional breakdown and was hospitalized for severe exhaustion. The project was poorly received and led to a general decline in the singer's career. Carey's recording contract was bought out for $50 million by Virgin and she signed a multi-million dollar deal with Island Records the following year. After a relatively unsuccessful period, she returned to the top of music charts with The Emancipation of Mimi(2005). The album became the best-selling album in the US and the second best-seller worldwide in 2005 and produced "We Belong Together", which became her most successful single of the 2000s, and was later named "Song of the Decade" by Billboard. Carey once again ventured into film with a well-received supporting role in Precious (2009), and was awarded the "Breakthrough Performance Award" at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Throughout her career, Carey has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. According to the RIAA, she is the third-best-selling female artist in the United States, with 63.5 million certified albums. With the release of "Touch My Body" (2008), Carey gained her 18th number-one single in the United States, more than any other solo artist. In 2012, the singer was ranked second on VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Women in Music". Aside from her commercial accomplishments, Carey has won 5 Grammy Awards, 19 World Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards, and 14 Billboard Music Awards and has been consistently credited with inspiring a generation of singers.[4] Referred to as the "songbird supreme" by Guinness World Records, she is famed for her five-octave
